A Note from the Regent
November is the month of REMEMBRANCE and THANKSGIVING.
November 1st is All Saints Day when we reflect on the sainthood of those who dedicated their lives to our Lord and Savior.
On November 2nd we remember our loved ones who have gone to their heavenly reward. Court Holy Rosary #1476 and the Knights of Columbus will celebrate Mass together at 6 P.M. on Tuesday, November 2 in honor of our deceased members. Please attend our Memorial Mass in church before our meeting.
THANKSGIVING - Family time, turkey and dressing, pumpkin pie and so much more! Leaves turning to reds and golds and cool, crisp weather and the changing of seasons are all the wonders of God's creations. How fortunate we are to be so blest to experience and enjoy all of the gifts He has bestowed on us.
Let us all give thanks to God for these wonders and do not forget Him as we enjoy the holiday with our families and friends. I am especially grateful for the love and cooperation of my sisters in Christ. May you continue to reap the benefits of your gracious acts of kindness and support of our court’s charitable acts of time and talents.
Rose Pederson
Worthy Regent

National and State News
National CDA Sunday
National CDA Sunday is celebrated the third Sunday in October each year. This year we co-celebrated with St. Isadore of the Land at St. Michael's Church in Needville, Texas along with the other courts in our district. Court Holy Rosary had nineteen members (pictured below) and four guests in attendance. Immediately following a beautiful Mass, we had a delicious spaghetti and salad meal followed by a dynamic talk from Deacon Billy Guerrero of Sacred Heart in Richmond. The theme for his talk was based on our own CDA theme for this year - "For In Him We Live and Move and Have Our Being" Acts 17:28.

Habitat for Humanity
The Habitat Home project in Eagle Lake is well on its way! The outside walls are up and workers are still needed to complete this project. Court Holy Rosary has set aside November 12 and 13 to feed the workers. We have seven ladies committed to helping prepare the meal and go to serve the workers. We could use more help so if you can get away or just help to prepare food to be taken, please contact me via telephone or email rjpederson@yahoo.com
2011 Texas State Convention
On Saturday, October 23rd, Cathy Bittner, along with several of our court's members, attended a planning meeting at the Marriott Hotel in Houston for the 2011 Convention to be held April 21-24. Cathy is in charge of the Friday night fun night so we will be hearing more from her.

Thanksgiving Prayer
Father in Heaven, Creator of all and source of all goodness and love, please look kindly upon
us and receive our heartfelt gratitude in this time of giving thanks.
Thank you for all the graces and blessings You have bestowed upon us, spiritual and temporal: our faith and religious heritage. Our food and shelter, our health, the loves we have for one another our family and friends.
Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, please grant us continued graces and blessing throughout the coming year.
This we ask In the Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Brother.
~Amen.

Humor Corner
The pro football team had just finished its daily practice session, when a large turkey came strutting onto the field. While the players gazed in amazement, the turkey walked up to the head coach and demanded a tryout. Everyone stared in silence as the turkey caught pass after pass and ran right through the defense line. When the turkey returned to the sidelines the coach shouted, “ You’re terrific!!! Sign up for the season, and I’ll see to it that you get a huge bonus.”
“Forget the bonus,” the turkey said, “All I want to know is, does the season go past Thanksgiving Day?”
