Committee History
Apostolate Committee
The Apostolate Committee was formed in 1990 under Regent ___________. She saw the need for us to touch the lives of the shut-ins at the Fort Bend Nursing Home. Mary Ondrush volunteered to chair the committee and is still the Chair eighteen (18) years later. Mary and three (3) volunteers visit the Fort Bend Nursing Home one Saturday afternoon each month from September to June. The Apostolate Committee serves laughter and friendship along with sugar-free food and drinks to the residents.

(Excerpt from 25th Year Anniversary Program)
During the past 25 years, the Court Holy Rosary #1476 has given a beautiful Crucifix to the Sisters Home and donated a $750 Baptismal Fount to the new Holy Rosary Church. We bought Father a rose-colored Vestment, donated $150 to the Holy Rosary Rectory and bought a $900 stained window in the Choir loft of the Holy Rosary Church. We sponsored the Fair Kitchen at the County Fair with Mrs. Hedwiga Stibora as chairman for three years. Out of the profits, a $1200.61 piano was bought for the new school and gave the rest to the Holy Rosary Church; sponsored a Thanksgiving dinner for several years and donated $100 to the new Holy Rosary School Library for books and the rest was given to the Church. Donated $50 for the parking lot, $100 for the Choir robes, and $250 for band instruments. Rebuilt 4 mattresses and bought new springs fr the Sisters home, and collected clothes for the needy people overseas. We collected old Christmas cards and stamps for the Missions and gave one engraved bible to the Autumn Hill Nursing Home and three bibles were given to Polly Ryan Hospital. Sponsored the poetry contest every year and also sponsored a CYO delegation to the Convention for seven years. A cash gift of $25 was given to Reginal Nesvadba for his ordination to the Priesthood. Also, cash gifts were given to Father Tydlacka upon becoming Monsignor and on his retirement. We have a booth at the Church Bazaar every year and give all the proceedings to the Holy Rosary Church. We have bought much needed items for Sister Walters at the Guadalupe Clinic for the past 20 years. We have been donating 18 to 20 dozen of cookies to the Veterans Hospital in Houston every month in the past 20 years. For the last 5 years, we have sponsored a boy and a girl at the Richmond State School in the "Dollar a Month" club. We have collected Bonus Gifts and Betty Crocker coupons for the Kidney Foundation in Houston.
These are some of the accomplishments the ladies of our Court have done and there are a lot more - too many to mention them all. The Catholic Daughters visit the sick members and enroll them in the Clerical Student Fund if they stay a period of 48 hours in the Hosptial. When a member dies, we enroll her for $25 in the Clerical Student Fund, attend the Rosary, Mass, and Burial as Catholic Daughter Color Honor Guards. We prepare a ham and help serve at the meal for the family. When a member's husband, mother, or father dies, they are enrolled in the Clerical Student Fund, and the member receives a ham. We help serve the meal too.
We are the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Holy Rosary Court 1476, located at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, Texas.
Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month, typically in Marian Hall.
